HEALTHY LUNCH AND DINNER IDEAS

For the Solid Foods Weight Loss Surgery Diet.

Spaghetti squash pasta toss with 1 cup spaghetti squash, 3 ounces shrimp or scallops, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Low-carb lasagna with eggplant slices, spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, low-fat mozzarella cheese

Salad with lettuce, spinach, or baby greens, 1 cup cut raw vegetables, and lean protein such as ½ cup tofu, 3 ounces chicken breast or tuna, or 1 cooked veggie burger.

BariatricPal Sloppy Joe with 1 cup roasted eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, or bell pepper slices

Stir fry with 1 cup vegetables (such as broccoli, carrots, onions, bean sprouts, bell peppers), 3 ounces of chicken breast, tofu, or fish and low-sodium teriyaki or soy sauce, served over Quest Nutrition Spaghetti Pasta

For the Maintenance Diet, You Can Try Adding One or More of the Following:

  • ½ cup per serving of low-fat cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup ricotta cheese
  • 2-3 ounces lean ground turkey or soy crumbles
  • ½ cup chickpeas or soybeans
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • ¼ avocado, sliced
  • 1 ounce shredded cheese
  • 1 high-fiber, low-calorie hamburger bun
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 slice cheese
  • ½ cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 ounce low-fat shredded cheese
  • ½ cup canned tomatoes
  • ½ cup cooked diced vegetables (such as onions, celery, bell peppers)
  • 2 ounces cooked shredded chicken breast, lean ground turkey, or soy crumbles
  • ¼ cup cashew nuts
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 orange for dessert
