Catelyn Green: 145 Pounds Lost and a Life Reclaimed

Meet Catelyn Green.
Five years ago, if you had told her she'd lose 145 pounds, become a cross country coach, and feel comfortable in her own skin, she probably wouldn't have believed you.
At her highest weight, Catelyn weighed 262 pounds. Today, she maintains 117 pounds. Along the way, she celebrated another milestone with a tummy tuck in 2022.
Those are the numbers.
But they're not the story.
The biggest change wasn't what she lost.
It was what she stopped carrying.
For years, Catelyn wrestled with the belief that everyone else came first. Taking care of herself felt selfish. She avoided mirrors. She hated having her picture taken. She spent more time criticizing herself than cheering herself on.
She didn't just need a healthier body.
She needed a different relationship with herself.
Looking back, she says the hardest part of her journey wasn't giving up certain foods or finding time to exercise.
It was winning the battle in her own mind.
That happened one decision at a time.
One morning she chose the protein shake instead of skipping breakfast.
One day she remembered her vitamins.
One workout turned into another.
One hard week didn't become a reason to quit.
Five years later, those small decisions have completely changed her life.
Her doctor stressed two things from the very beginning: make protein and vitamins part of your routine.
She still does exactly that.
Every morning starts with a Premier Protein shake. She takes her multivitamin, focuses on balanced meals, drinks plenty of water, and stays active coaching cross country.
There's no magic routine.
Just consistency.
Ask Catelyn what she's gained, and she probably won't start with the number on the scale.
She'll tell you she gained confidence.
Peace.
Energy.
The freedom to stop hiding.
She'll tell you she's finally learned to be kind to herself.
Her advice for anyone just starting?
Don't give up.
The process isn't always easy, and it definitely isn't fast. But every small choice adds up.
Five years ago, Catelyn started chasing weight loss.
She ended up finding a version of herself she didn't think was possible.
We're so grateful she's sharing her story with the BariatricPal community, and we have a feeling it won't just inspire someone. It'll remind them they're capable of more than they think.
