Perfect Weight Loss Day if You’re Craving Carbs

Alex Brecher

Weight loss is rough if you love carbs! Bagels, potatoes, pasta, and cookies aren’t exactly on the typical list of diet foods, and that can make you feel pretty deprived. But never fear: The BariatricPal Store has you covered!

Here’s a sample day that can keep you losing weight. It’s low in carbs and sugar, packed with satisfying protein, and full of the foods you love!

Breakfast: Blueberry Pancakes

Start your day with a protein blast in the form of Blueberry Protein Pancakes with 15 grams of protein and 110 calories. Add toppings like Greek yogurt and fresh berries or melon, and you have a well-balanced breakfast. For an extra special treat, pour on some sugar-free syrup.

Morning Snack: Oatmeal

It’s okay if you’re not quite awake. Your morning snack will get you up to speed. Try a packet of Maple and Brown Sugar Protein Oatmeal topped with chopped pecans, and you’ll be full until lunch. Or, if you’d rather sip on your morning snack, go for a convenient Vanilla Shake in a bottle.

Lunch

Sit down to a warm, filling bowl of soup for lunch. Any of The BariatricPal Store’s Protein Soups can work, but here’s one of our ideas. Start with the 70 calories and 15 grams of protein from Cream of Chicken Soup. Add diced cooked chicken breast or canned beans and 1 cup of cooked vegetables.

Now that you have a nice bowl of hearty soup, here’s where it really gets decadent. Serve it with freshly baked bread: the low-carb kind. Bake yourself some breadsticks or rolls in minutes using Carb-Quick Lo-Carb Baking Mix. You can even toast some bread to make croutons for your soup. Each serving has only 2 grams net carbs. That’s a meal that sure beats ordering in a sub and some chips for 100 grams of carbs and 1000 calories!

Afternoon Snack: Chips to Crunch on

The afternoon munchies strike again. Welcome them with a bag of Protein Chips, available in favorite flavors like barbecue, salt and vinegar, and sour cream and onion. If you’re more into pretzels, we’ve got you covered there, too, with Protein Pretzels. Either way, you get a boost of protein without many calories. Feel free to balance out your snack with a small apple or a cup of grapes.

Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese

Don’t let the drive-through tempt you. Go for a delicious pasta dinner using Spaghetti Bolognese as the centerpiece. It has 120 calories and 15 grams of protein, leaving you plenty of room to jazz it up if you like. You could add some ground turkey or soy crumbles, sprinkle on some low-fat parmesan cheese, or add some tomato sauce with some veggies cooked in. If your appetite is big, serve your pasta with a side salad or cooked zucchini.

Dessert: Chocolate Fix

It’s hard to complain about your weight loss diet when your day ends with rich chocolate. Grab a package of Double Chocolate Cake for 120 calories and 12 grams of protein, and heat it in a mug. You can even top it with raspberries or strawberries. Savor each comforting bite of warm, chocolatey goodness.

With days like this in your diet rotation, it’s easy to stick to the plan. Enjoy every meal and snack, feel good about your choices, and look forward to stepping on the scale tomorrow!
