Last Minute Weight Loss Party Tips

Alex Brecher

The Super Bowl is in 2 days. No doubt you are ready for the big game, but are you ready for the party? Do you have the snacks that will carry you through the game play, the commercials, and the halftime show, all while staying on your diet?

If not, no worries! Here are a few last-minute snacks to throw together that can stave off hunger and guilt so you can focus on what really matters: your victory dance!

7-Layer Dip

The ultimate dip has gone so wrong, until now. You can take in fewer calories and less fat with just a couple substitutions and no extra effort. Here are the layers.

  • fat-free refried pinto beans
  • fat-free shredded cheddar cheese
  • guacamole
  • salsa
  • fat-free Greek yogurt mixed with chili and cumin
  • shredded lettuce
  • sliced olives

Nachos Supreme

Is that cheesy, beefy crunch really worth 1,000 calories and a days’ worth of saturated fat and carbohydrates? Absolutely not, especially when you can have your nachos the low-carb, high-protein way, with great taste. Make Protein Cheese Sauce and Protein Salsa or regular salsa, ground turkey with Mexican or taco seasoning, and chopped olives, tomatoes, and jalapenos. Then, swap your typical fried, greasy tortilla chips for Chili Nacho Cheese Protein Chips for a high-protein, high-fiber, low-fat crunch.

Party Pasta Salad

Protein Pasta can give you a crowd-pleasing salad that only tastes like a diet-breaker. Try it with cubes of fat-free cheddar cheese and all-natural turkey, green onions, and fat-free mayo. Or, try it with watermelon, feta, mint, and cucumbers.

Skinny Dippers

Vegetables are best for mindless munching – snow peas, bell pepper strips, celery sticks, and broccoli florets are as tasty and attractive as they are low-calorie. Dig right in! For a flavorful protein boost, try Protein Chips in ranch, BBQ, and other classic flavors. Dip them in:

The Sweet Stuff

The age-old question: Should you cave into your sweet tooth, or should you stick to your weight loss plan? The new answer: Both!

You can go all-natural, high-vitamin, high-fiber, and naturally sweet with pieces of fruit on toothpicks, or serve fruit on platters with cheese. Or, puree frozen bananas and top them with pieces of pecans and dark chocolate.

For a sweeter sweet fix, choose a protein snack such as Chocolate Protein Puffs. Have them on their own, or use them to make a party snack mix with other ingredients, such as your favorite types of Protein Cereal and Krinkles, popcorn, and peanuts.
